Recognized as one of the top five Glaucoma specialists with the highest scientific impact in Brazil, according to the Expertscape ranking. He is the author of over 150 scientific articles and book chapters.
He is recognized as the top glaucoma specialist in Brazil, with internationally impactful scientific production and over 150 published articles.
Ophthalmologist trained at the Paulista School of Medicine - UNIFESP, he completed his specialization in Glaucoma at the same institution. He also completed his PhD and Post-doctorate in Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at UNIFESP/EPM.
He completed postgraduate clinical research in Glaucoma in New York (USA), at the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary / New York Medical College.
He is currently an Affiliated Professor and Postgraduate Advisor in the Department of Ophthalmology at UNIFESP/EPM, working in the Glaucoma Sector since 2006.
He holds the positions of Associated Researcher at Mayo Clinic since 2018, and director of the Brazilian Glaucoma Society since 2015.

Graduated in Medicine from the Federal University of Juiz de Fora (UFJF), she completed her medical residency in Ophthalmology at Santa Casa de Belo Horizonte.
She completed her Master's in Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences from UNIFESP / Paulista School of Medicine (EPM), focusing on glaucoma progression.
She completed specialized Fellowships in glaucoma and cataracts, childhood glaucoma, and oculoplastic surgery.
She is the co-director of Prata Ophthalmology, where she is dedicated to the compassionate care of patients with glaucoma — especially children with congenital glaucoma — in addition to performing eyelid surgeries and treatments related to oculoplastics.
